The 25th Anniversary of the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic is upon us! This year, the festivities take place August 31st to September 4th. In order to make the most out of your Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic experience sponsored by CapEd, here are five things you need to know before you arrive.

1. Come early, Park Smart

Our balloon classic draws in tens of thousands of locals every year, and unfortunately, there isn't enough parking for everyone. If you're planning on attending, we strongly suggest you try to walk or bike ride over if possible. If driving is needed, make sure you're aware of the parking locations HERE, as the Ann Morrison Park will be closed for visitor parking.

2. Bring Your Family, But Not your Fur Babies

We love dogs, but this event is NOT meant for animals. The burners that power the balloons make a sound that is inaudible to humans, but when experienced up close by your pet, actually hurts their sensitive ears. It’s the same reason that dogs bark when a balloon flies overhead. It may seem like a cool idea for everyone to experience, but it's actually hurting your pet. Give your dog a break, and leave them at home for this one.

3. Chairs ARE Allowed

Guests are more than welcome to bring chairs and blankets to the Balloon Classic. However, please place your chairs at least 20 feet from balloons. As balloons inflate, they grow nearly 20 times bigger when they're filled with air. Place your chairs accordingly, and remember, the closest view isn't necessarily the best.

4. Pack for the Weather

Balloons need certain air conditions to fly. This is why balloons take flight early in the morning, and late in the evening. When attending our event, please pack for the weather and bring a jacket for those cold mornings or frosty sunsets.

5.Check out the Station Tents

Local radio stations WOW Country, KISS-FM, MIX 106, 580 KIDO, The FAN and LITE FM will all be at the event! Make sure to set some time aside to stop by these station tents to meet your local on-air talent, and take advantage of a few freebies! Every station is doing something different, so make sure to stop by them all.
