Borah's Austin Bolt took some time out of his busy basketball schedule to spend a weekend in Dallas, play a football game in AT&T Stadium (home of the Dallas Cowboys) and Oh, did I mention he was named the games offensive MVP?

The game was the Blue-Grey All American Bowl and Bolt wasn't about to miss it even if it meant taking some time away from his Borah basketball duties where he's averaging better than 18 points per game.

The Idaho football player of the year had no trouble making the transition from gym shorts to shoulder pads as he scored three touchdowns Monday night including the game clincher in overtime as the West beat the East 37-30. Bolt hauled in a 25 yard td pass in the final moments of overtime to shine in a game full of prep football stars from across the nation.

For those of us in SW Idaho who marveled at Bolt's performance as a senior with the Lions, his three touchdown game on a national stage comes as little surprise, indeed we almost expect the Bolt electricity to strike anytime he suits up!

Good news for SW Idaho fans because Bolt will play his college career on the blue at Boise State but first it's back to gym shorts as the Lions continue their quest to defend their 5A state basketball crown.
