Eric Knapp was raised in Pullman, WA as a brainwashed Washington State University sports fan. He graduated from Wazzu with a Business and Marketing degree which he never used. He instead suffered through 19 years living in Seattle while mowing greens, managing a warehouse, sitting in traffic and fruitlessly rooting on NW sports teams. Eric is now living the dream in Bend, OR. He loves outdoor adventure, coaching little league, playing golf and, alas, still cheers on the Cougs.

New MLB Home Plate Rule
In an effort to protect players from “egregious collisions” at home plate, Major League Baseball recently announced an experimental new rule (7.13) for the 2014 season. It reads:
“A runner attempting to score may not deviate from his direct pathway to the plate in order to initiate contact with the catcher (or other player covering home plate)...
