The Boise Hawks have two of the top four hitters in the Northwest League.

Matt Hearn leads the league with a .329 batting average while Luis Castro is 4th with a .349 average but an amazing .594 slugging percentage.

Hearn's batting average slipped from .406 last week to currently .379 so he has cooled off a tad but he still managers to get on base almost 50% of the time and his slugging percentage is .460, not bad since he doesn't have any homers.

Castro on the other hand has 5 home runs this year and is the only NW League player with a slugging percentage over 500.

The two will be in action tonight as the Boise Hawks entertain the Everett Aquasox. .Everett beat Boise 5-1 last night to wrap up the mid season North Division title in the NW League with a 20-17 record, identical to the Hawks halfway mark.

Despite having the second best record in the league the Hawks finished second in the South Division mid-season standings to Hillsboro. The Hops are 23-14.

The NW League divides the season into halves to determine post season tournament pairings.

In essence the league begins all over again tonight with all teams 0-0.
