After Jay Ajayi left BSU early, the battle for his position has heated up. Some losses over the winter has left it a wide open race and now BSU has turned up the heat by signing Stanford transfer Kelsey Young for a one year BSU career.
Young, the older brother of redshirt freshman tailback Cory Young, holds a computer science degree from Stanford. That makes him eligible to play immediately this fall, his last season of college football as he works on his masters.
Young was Stanford’s second-leading rusher last year with 66 carries for 331 yards. He averaged 6.4 yards per carry and 8.9 yards per catch over the past three seasons.
Young joins the race to replace Ajayi with Sophomore Jeremy McNichols, senior Jack Fields, junior Devan Demas and Cory Young..
