Boise State Upgrades the Fan Experience at Albertsons Stadium
If you’re going to the Broncos’ home opener this weekend you’ll notice some big changes. Prepare yourself for a whole new batch of concession vendors, more replay angles on the video boards, and fireworks throughout the game. Oh, and this big surprise — one former player returns to show us his skills behind the mic.
Boise State crews have been working during the off season to bring big technology upgrades to Albertsons Stadium, and that will bring us some high tech camera work with more options on the video boards, including real-time replay packages and more stats and graphics. It’ll almost be like you’re watching it on TV, but you’re there. Also, this season, they’ll have fireworks after every touchdown! Every Broncos touchdown of course.
Former Broncos offensive lineman, Faraji Wright, will be back in the stadium with a brand new gig this season. He’s the in-stadium DJ that will pump some energy into the arena during the pregame, and play music during breaks once the game starts. As a recording artist, his fans know him as Rexx Life Raj, and even they have never seen him like this before.
More concession vendors have been added, like Mad Mac, Mai Thai hand-rolled sushi, Kono Pizza, Famous Dave’s BBQ and Soda Stop, and La Tapatia Street Tacos. Oh, and they’re adding a Walking Taco Loaded Nachos kiosk and you can order right there. That’s an impulse buy waiting to happen. If you’d rather just skip all that and go straight for the sweet stuff, you can check out Ben & Jerry’s, or Sweet Valley Cookies. It’s a little about football.
You’ve got the perfect chance to test all of this out this Saturday against Troy. The kickoff is at 1:45 p.m., and USA Today says it’s one of the best opening day match ups, with both teams coming off 10-3 records last year. Boise State wants fans to dress in blue, orange, or white and which color you wear depends on the section you’re sitting in. Click HERE for this year’s color scheme for every game.
Sounds like a blast! We just need a some pizza and fireworks. Go Broncos!
