Boise State has impressed the nation with its victories over two Power Five Schools.  Check out which non power five teams are currently ahead of the Broncos.  Tony Fornelli, a staff writer at CBS Sports, compiled a weekly ranking of the non-power five teams.  The Broncos smack down last week impressed Fornelli who moved them up from five to three.  The Toledo Rockets rank just ahead of BSU.  Let’s face it, their beat-down of Arkansas, Iowa State, and now Arkansas State have folks in the Midwest believing a MAC Team could go to the Fiesta Bowl.

Right now the top team is Memphis, who survived a showdown with American Conference rival Cincinnati.  The Tigers are four and O.  They, like Boise State, begin conference play this week.  Most experts agree that the American could be the top non-power five conference followed by the MAC.  So does that mean if Memphis or Toledo go undefeated that Boise State is out?

Not necessarily. Although the Mountain West is not what it was last year, BSU has a huge national following.  Voters will take that into consideration when determining who goes to the Fiesta Bowl.  Hopefully, a one loss Boise State team has enough pull to beat out an undefeated team from the American or the MAC.
