The Rams have released Former BSU wide receiver Austin Pettis, head coach Jeff Fisher said at his weekly press conference late Monday afternoon.

“We appreciate Austin’s contributions and everything that he’s done here. He’s made a lot of plays for us,” Fisher said. “But we need to make some moves with respect to some other positions. I’m not going into detail on what we’re going to do, but we need a roster spot.”

It has also been reported that Pettis missed a scheduled meeting on Saturday.

The 2011 third-round pick played in 47 games for the Rams with 11 starts. Pettis amassed 107 receptions for 1,034 yards in St. Louis, also contributing on special teams in past seasons as a punt and kick returner. He was targeted only 17 times in 2014, catching 12 passes for 118 yards and a touchdown.
