Eagle High School is always a competitive team when it comes to football. This season the Mustangs expecting to play for a state championship.

Peterson is expecting his team "to play as a unit and really focus on our daily tasks at hand, and not get caught up in too many extracurricular things that are pulling the kids in other directions." With such high expectations for this season Eagle is raising the bar.

Some notable returners for the Mustangs are Bucky Schrader (tailback) and Dustin Walker (full back). These returners will not be the only two players who are stepping up this year. Luke Leonnig "brings extreme energy and discipline to the team and is also very dedicated." These three players are hoping they can help lead the team to a state championship this season.

Conditioning is going great for the Mustangs according to Peterson. "Conditioning is not an issue. We are working hard."

The Mustangs are planning to be completely OCD in their preparation for the season opener by covering every possible scenario that may arise.

"The league is loaded with top teams. It is always a surprise with other schools who may not be considered "top dogs". Every week is really difficult." Peterson went on to say, all the programs are great and each team has excellent coaches. The consistency is there and there is a fine line between winning and losing, everyone is good.
