If you don’t follow distance running, you might not know that some of the best cross country runners in the state will be in The Treasure Valley at Eagle Island State park this weekend for the 41st annual Bob Firman Invitational.

The top-ranked girl’s team in the country, Great Oak of California is entered for Saturday’s event along with sixth ranked American Fork (Utah) and Number 9 Davis (Utah).

In The Boys teams is number 6 Davis (Utah), number 7 North Central (Washington) and Number 8 Great Oak.

2,800 high school runners representing 113 schools and nine states are expected to compete, plus 680 middle school athletes from 61 schools and six states.
