Boise State seems to have a knack of finding football Gems in the Gem state and turning them into diamonds.

The most recent was Leighton Vander Esch a linebacker from Riggins, Idaho who went from 8-man football to the Dallas Cowboys as a #1 pick.

There's been Matt Paradis of Council, Idaho and Shea McClellan from Marsing, Idaho both of whom used Boise State as an NFL launching pad.

Today at noon Keegan Duncan from Declo, Idaho announced he's committing to Boise States recruiting class of 2019.

If you've never heard of Duncan you're probably not alone and certainly you don't follow 2A high school football.

Duncan was the player of the year in 2A rushing for 2,843 yards and 29 touchdowns. That's correct, nearly 3,000 rushing yards.

Duncan is big at 6-3 205 pounds and fast. He was second in the state 2A 100 meter dash with a time of 11.14 seconds.

I'm not saying he's the next Idaho small town super star to come out of Boise State but what the heck, he has history bon his side and maybe that's why he chose BSU over BYU and Utah State.

If nothing else, Duncan is a player to keep an eye in the not too distant future.
