District Time For Girls Prep Basketball

The 5A regular Idaho High School girls basketball season is in the books but the sole goal of a state title remains tangling for 2019 and this week things get serious with district play.

Four 5A teams begin action tonight and for two of those teams the season will end tonight. Play in games have Skyview at Borah and Capital at Centennial with both games beginning at 6 p.m.

The losers are done for the season and the winners advance to play in the first round Thursday night.

20-0 Mountain View will await the lowest seeded team to win tonight. The Lady Mavs have dominated all season but 20-0 is just that, 20-0 and without the State crown...well you get it, this is not the time for a hiccup.

First round games will be played Thursday at Rocky Mountain and Timberline:

5a District III Girls Basketball Tournament-Thursday Round One

at Rocky Mountain: No.1 seed Mountain View (20-0) vs. Lowest seed from play in 6 p.m. followed by no.4 Timberline (15-5) vs. no.5 Meridian (11-10) at 7:30 p.m.

at Timberline: no.2 Boise (15-5) vs Highest seed from play in 6 p.m. followed by no.3 Eagle (17-4) vs. #6 Rocky Mountain (11-10) 7:30 p.m.

The 2019 State Girls Basketball Tournament is February 14-16 at various sites across the Treasure Valley.
