Emma Bates takes sixth in nationals

Emma Bates finished the women's 10,000 meters at the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships on Thursday with a time of 32 minutes, 51.49 seconds. In the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase preliminaries, Marisa Howard from Boise State did not qualify. Howard took 15th with a 9:51.05.
