We can finally float the Boise River! The 2017 Float Season starts 10 a.m. this Saturday, July 29th.

It's the latest start EVER for the float season to begin on the Boise River, but it's finally here! After a longer than normal winter, and a pretty brutal spring in a lot of ways, it's taken extra caution, time and preparation to make sure the Boise River is safe for people who want to beat the heat!

The timing, albeit later this summer, is pretty good, as high temperatures this weekend are supposed to be in the triple digits for most of the Treasure Valley! Big kudos to the Boise Fire Department Dive Rescue Team! They worked pretty hard and non-stop this past week or so to make several sweeps of the river, making sure underwater hazards, snags and debris were clear to make it safe and enjoyable for all of us!

So here's the deal. If you need to rent tubes or rafts, the Barber Park Raft & Tube Rental will open at 10 a.m. this Saturday. Shuttles will start running from Ann Morrison Park at noon.
