Craving an Oreo or Cookie Dough Blizzard? Cool off and treat yourself for a good cause on Thursday, July 27th!

Thursday is Dairy Queen's annual "Miracle Treat Day" which means that $1 or more from every blizzard sold at participating DQ locations will be donated to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. In case you didn't know, St. Luke's Children's Hospital is one of those hospitals so your purchase is actually benefiting kids in the Treasure Valley!

Since Dairy Queen and Children's Miracle Network staring working together in 1984, they've donated more than $125 million! Last year "Miracle Treat Day" alone raised $4 million helping over 32 million patient visits!

Whether they're in the hospital battling cancer, seeking treatment for a traumatic injury or were born with a genetic disease, 62 children per minute are admitted to a Children's Miracle Network Hospital.

I woke up to a photo on Facebook that reminded me how important doing something as simple as eating a Blizzard is on Miracle Treat Day.  If you had a chance to visit Treasure Valley Comic Con a few weeks ago, you may have seen the local dad dressed up as Slender Man raising money for his daughter's cancer treatment.  100% of the funds he made off Slender Man t-shirts and the tips people gave him for photos went to Leia's care.  This morning he posted a picture of the two of them in her hospital room at St. Luke's watching a movie together.  This is her second battle with cancer and I know how at home the St. Luke's family has tried to make the family feel while they're in the hospital.  That's while I'll go grab a blizzard to give back to the people who are doing so much for my friends.

The following Treasure Valley locations are participating in "Miracle Treat Day":
