After five games into the season it's apparent these are not the same Idaho State Bengals of recent years.

Saturday in their homecoming game against Cal Poly the Bengals trailed 31-17 late in the third period. Normally that would be enough to spell defeat but not for this team.

ISU went on a 21-3 run over the final 17 minutes to win 38-34 and improve to 3-2 on the season. One of those wins was over Nevada of the Mountain West.

Bengal quarterback Tanner Gueller threw for 341 yards and three touchdowns with Michael Dean his favorite target, 6 catches for 121 yards and two touchdown.

In all the Bengals put up 489 yards in total offense and the ISU offense was able to control the ball and kill the last 4:57 on the clock to preserve the win.

The Bengals will host Montana this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and for the first time in a while Holt arena could well be at capacity as the Bengals look to bring down the Grizzlies.
