Ladies Throw Punches in Mountain West Hoops

Bench clearing fights happen from time to time in sports, baseball is famous for some classic fisticuffs but I can't remember a time when punches were thrown in a women's basketball game.

It happened Saturday night in a Mountain West game between UNLV and Utah State. Antonina Robinson of Utah State and UNLV's Katie Powell accidentally bumped into one another and the punches began to fly. Paris Strawther of UNLV also jumped into the fracus before calmer players broke up the fight.

Too late for the trio of players as the punches thrown will cost each a one game suspension. Six others were reprimanded for their part in the fight.

As Henry Wadsworth Longfellow pointed out about the girl with a curl, when she was good she was very good when she was bad, she was horrid!
