You can call it the official sign of spring! The Meridian Speedway has their season opener this Saturday, April 8th. General manager Adam Nelson tells 630 the Fan the speedway survived the winter and is ready to host the Purple Modified's. The Purple Modifieds is a touring series and Nelson expects about 18 cars Saturday night for a 75 lap finale. Nelson says anytime you put 18 modified cars on the quarter mile oval at the same time it's exciting. This is the first of several big races in April and the start of what Nelson hopes will be the speedways best season for competition ever! Watch right here on 630thefan.com  for your chance to win a pair of tickets to the speedway. Also listen for Nelson on the Meridian Speedway Hot laps report every Thursday afternoon between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Sports Radio 630 The Fan. You might just be able to win VIP Pit Passes for the racing experience of the season!
