The Mountain View boys finished with 125 points, beatin No. 1-ranked North Central (Spokane), who came in second with 146.
The 5-kilometer race at Audubon Park in Spokane scored each team’s top eight runners instead of the usual five, and the boys field was an invite-only race featuring several of the top teams in the country.
Junior Noah Horsburgh (15:46) led the Mavericks’ came in sixth, followed by Samuel Berg (11th), Ryan McKinnon (13th), Colton Ray (16th), Brion Lowry (17th), Adrian Jones (20th), Conner Oswald (26th) and Joe Petty (32nd).
Mountain View Senior Erin Hagen led the Mavericks to a victory in the girls race, crossing the finish line in first place with a time of 19:14.
