The long-suffering people of Cleveland are over the moon after the Cavaliers ended the city's 52-year title drought. But no one may be more emotional than the Cavs' J.R. Smith.

Following Cleveland's memorable Game 7 win on the road at Golden State to win the franchise's first-ever NBA title, in which the Cavaliers became the first team to come back from a 3-1 deficit in the finals, the guard-forward, who's had a slew of off-court problems, gave an impassioned speech thanking his dad during the postgame press conference.

The timing could not have been more perfect -- Smith, 30, is a newly-minted champion speaking glowingly of his dad on Father's Day with the eyes of the sports world on him. And then he gave his pop a hug. It was like something out of the end of Jerry Maguire.

His words were so moving that the press corps in attendance gave him a round of applause when he finished. That's no easy task, considering the objective stance the media is supposed to take.
