Idaho Athletic Director Rob Spear says quarterback Chad Chalich has requested and received permission to contact other universities, and will be granted his release from the football program. Spear told The Moscow-Pullman Daily News and Lewiston Tribune, “We wish him the best."

The junior-to-be from Coeur d'Alene High, played in four games this season as backup to starter Matt Linehan. Chalich may explore Montana, Idaho State, and Sacramento State, all of whom have to replace their starting quarterbacks this offseason.
