When they talk about a game being great on paper, they're talking about tonight's Capital-Mountain View football game to be broadcast live at 7 p.m. on sports radio 630 The Fan. Former Boise State QB Jared Zabransky will join me in the booth.

Not only is it a rematch of the 2016 5A State title game but it is for the division championship of 2017 and a bye in the first round of the playoffs. Both teams are 4-0 in their division with Mountain View ranked #1 in the state at 8-0 and Capital 6-1 overall.

Both teams began the season with new starters everywhere so in reality it's not so much as a rematch as it is two perennial powers meeting again with a whole bunch on the line.

Want some stats? Consider this, Both teams average exactly 39.3 points per game. Capital allows just 14.3 points per game, Mountain Views defense gives up 15.5 a contest.

Talk about parody! By the way both are +7 in turnover margin....It seems the tie breaker is home field advantage which goes to Mountain View. Weather could be a factor tonight since the game is played on natural turf. Join us for all the fun at the stadium or listen in on Sports Radio 630 The Fan.
