It’s been a tough offseason for the Idaho Vandals.  The season started with the coach confronting a beat reporter, two players involved in shoplifting and oh yes, the Sunbelt decides to boot the Vandals.  Can it get worse for the Vandals?  Fear, not Vandal Nation, the Vandals could have the last laugh when it comes to who wins the Sunbelt.    The Sunbelt Media was held Monday, and the Vandals have been picked to finish eighth by the league’s coaches.  That may not sound like a ringing endorsement. However, the Vandals are the most experienced team in the conference according to Underdogdynasty.com.

The popular web site and college football guru Phil Steele point out that the Vandals return 13 starters who endured the four win eight-loss season.  They say that those players bring sixty one percent of tackles, and eighty-three percent of offensive points scored.  The article notes that the return of quarterback Matt Linehan will be a big boost for the offense.

It will take more than preseason predictions to make a championship happen for the Vandals.  One could not think of a better way to avenge the distractions of last year than with a Vandal Championship this fall.
