No matter how you add up the numbers, the Rocky Mountain grizzlies are the number one team in 5A football, across the board!

At 6-0 they are tops in the state but the Grizzlies are also number one in team offense and tops in team defense.

Rocky Mountain averages nearly 43 points per game and allows just 8.8. The Grizzlies are also number one in take away margin at +15.

The Grizzlies also have the top running back in Nick Romano with 12 yards per carry, 1,000 yards overall and 19 touchdowns.

So does Eagle even stand a chance tonight when they host Rocky Mountain? The Mustangs are actually the top running team in 5A average 271 yards per game but you guessed it, Rocky is first against the run allowing just 21 yards a game.

Eagle scores nearly 38 points a contest led by quarterback Ben Ford but the Grizzlies will test the Mustang mettle tonight.

Because of teacher in service many schools switched their football games to Thursday night rather than play traditional Friday night games so we'll see if playing a day early has any affect.

Join us here on 630 The Fan for all the action starting at 7p.m. Desmond banks and I will have all the play by play as Rocky tries to lock down a playoff home game and with a win Eagle will earn a playoff spot.
