Rocky Mountain Takes First Step at 5A State
The Rocky Mountain Grizzlies took the first step towards what they hope will be a spot in the 5A State title game beating Bonneville of Idaho Falls 61-56 in the opening round of the boys state basketball tournament at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa.
Bonneville led after the first period but scored just 9 points in the second stanza and Rocky led by as many as 11 in the second half earning a semi final show down with Lewiston Friday at 6:15 p.m.

Lewiston earned it's spot in the semi's with a 71-69 overtime win against Mountain View. The Bengals led by as many as 13 points in the second half before Mountain View tied the game 60-60 at the end of regulation. The Mavericks first lead in the game came with 1:15 to play in OT but is was short lived. Mountain View had a chance to force a second OT but a flurry of shots fell short at the buzzer.
