Congratulations to Centennial and Middleton for winning the 5A and 4A girls State Basketball Championships.

Centennial finally was able to beat the states #1 ranked team in Eagle 40-37 for the 5A title. Eagle had beaten Centennial by an average of 13 points in the first three meetings of the season but not Saturday night. Eagle shot just 29% and Tori Williams led the Patriots with a game high 15 points.

Meantime another Treasure Valley team was taking home the championship trophy. Middleton beat Bishop Kelly 57-45 for the 4A crown. Middleton, which started the year 0-4, finished 21-6 with a 16 game winning streak down the stretch.
