Once again Destiny Slocum from Mountain View high school did what a good point guard does, she led her Maryland women's basketball team to victory in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Maryland beat Bucknell 103-61 as the Terps improved to 31-2 overall. Slocum finished with 5 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. The Big 10 freshman of the year spent most of the game passing the ball and setting up plays for the scorers down low as Maryland breezed to victory.

Maryland is one of the few teams in the NCAA field given a chance to upset defending champion UCONN. The two could meet in the Elite 8.

Maryland's only National Title was in 2006 when Kristi Toliver, another freshman point guard led the charge. Maryland fans hope that Slocum can do likewise and while the challenge is huge, it's exactly the odds that make Slocum tick!
