According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Dylan Sumner-Gardner, a safety out of West Mesquite (Texas) High, has changed his verbal commitment from Texas A&M to Boise State. Sumner-Gardner made the comment on Twitter. Marcel Yates, Boise State’s new defensive coordinator, was Texas A&M’s co-defensive coordinator. Sumner-Gardner is expected to enroll at Boise State in time for the spring semester. This news comes on the heels of reports that Nebraska DB coach Terry Joseph will replace Yates at Texas A & M.
Sumner-Gardner (6-2, 200) is ranked as Scout.com’s No. 8 safety and Rivals.com’s No. 10 safety. He is a four-star recruit, according to all major recruiting sites. He also is considered one of the top 100 recruits nationally — he is ranked No. 83 by 247Sports.com, No. 86 by Rivals, No. 93 by ESPN.com and No. 95 by Scout.
Sumner-Gardner had offers from Auburn, Baylor, LSU and Texas, among others. He also had been committed to Clemson before changing to Texas A&M last year.
