It was a 3 way playoff for the final spot in the 5A Southern Idaho Conference football playoff played at Rocky Mountain last night and Timberline beat Nampa and Borah in the Kansas City playoffs.
Timberline, Nampa and Borah tied for third in the 5A SIC Pod A during the regular season, leading to Monday's tiebreaker.
Timberline started the three-way tiebreaker against Nampa with the defense forcing a turnover on downs. Timberline then got in position for a 4-yard touchdown run to secure a 6-0 victory.
Borah then beat Nampa 7-0, eliminating Nampa and setting up a winner-take-all match against Timberline.
Timberline started against Borah with a 34-yard pass to sophomore running back Matt Roberts, setting up Timberline at the 6-yard line. Timberline the took three runs to score.
Borah could not score in four downs which gave the wolves the victory.
Timberline travels to face Madison (5-3) at 7 p.m. Friday in Rexburg in the first round of the 5A playoffs. Madison also won a three-way playoff Monday to finish second in District 5-6. Skyline finished third in that tiebreaker and travels to face Capital at 7 p.m. Friday at Dona Larsen Park which will be the Fans Game of the week. Live streaming and play by play will begin at 6:30 pm.
