Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer paid a visit to Pocatello to do some Holiday shopping and came home with a verbal commitment from Highland Rams defensive end Tommy Togiai.

Togiai, who said he'd make a decision by December 20th verbally committed to the Buckeyes when Meyer showed up.

The 6-3 295lb defensive end is listed as the 9th best defensive tackle in the country and a four star recruit. Togiai helped Highland to a 10-1 season and the 5A State Title.

Togiai made the announcement via tweeter saying "This whole recruiting process has been tough on my family and I have decided to commit to The Ohio State University."

Togiai also had offers from Boise State, Washington, Michigan, Penn State, USC, Wisconsin and more.

Monday Togia was named the Gatorade High school football player of the year with 93 total tackles and 11 sacks for the season.

Ohio State coach Urban Meyer says Togiai is the first player he has ever recruited from Idaho.
