The frustrations continued for the Idaho men’s basketball team on Saturday night as the team erased a 14-point second-half deficit to tie the game with 30 seconds left, only to fall at the hands of a put-back with three ticks on the clock, losing 57-55 to Chicago State in the Cowan Spectrum.
The Vandals fall to 6-10 on the season and 0-2 in the Western Athletic Conference after their fourth consecutive loss, three of which came in two-or-less possession games. Chicago State moves to 6-8 and 1-0 in the WAC.
The Cougars shot 54.2 percent from the field in the first half en route to a 38-28 halftime lead, but Idaho clamped down in defense, holding CSU to a 34.6 percent (9-of-26) clip in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to get the win.
