Spring football is mostly an uneventful time coaches and player use to get ready for summer and then fall camp. Unless you need to replace a four year quarterback like Matt Linehan. That's exactly the case for the Idaho Vandals this spring and the candidates are the coaches son, Mason Petrino a sophomore, another sophomore in Colton Richardson and a redshirt freshman named Dylan Lemle. Idaho football coach Paul Petrino addressed the media earlier this week, take a look at his interview:

Coach Petrino's son Mason might well be the leading candidate to replace Linehan although much could change between now and September when the Vandals open the 2018 season. As for the young Petrino, here is what Mason had to say to the media.
