Yotes to National NAIA Baseball Again
It has been one of those years for the College of Idaho baseball team. Win one then lose one for a 24-28 season record.
Not the kind of season the Coyotes envisioned but still a season where a National Championship is still not out of the question.
The Yotes spent the weekend in Vancouver B.C. playing a three game series against British Columbia with the winner earning an automatic berth in the NAIA National Championships.
Everything came down to the final game and the final inning. Despite only two hits the College of Idaho led 2-1. Coyote starter Anthony Martine tossed 8 great innings striking out 8 along the way but in the bottom of the 9th, two out and the tying run at 2nd base, former Borah High pitcher Mike Bigelow came on to shut the door and for the second straight year the College of Idaho will compete at the NAIA Nationals.
Make no mistake it was the C of I pitching staff that got the job done as they allowed just two runs in the three game series.
