The College of Idaho beat Northwest Nazarene 86-82 in double overtime last night in Caldwell. It was the first of two games pairing NNU and C.of I in the annual Mayors Cup series. Game two is next Tuesday in Nampa.

As for last night, the Coyotes had 5 players in double figures led by Nate Bruneel with 18 points and Talon Pinkney with 16.

This was the 205th meeting between the two schools and the 7th consecutive series win in Caldwell for the Coyotes.

Idaho Vandal Men's Basketball: In Moscow meantime the Idaho Vandals dropped an 83-80 decision to Nichols State. The Colonels won the game despite six second half three pointers from Idaho's Cameron Tyson. Idaho is 0-2 on the year and will host Bethesda Sunday afternoon 2:30 p.m. on Sports radio 630 The Fan.

5A SIC Girls basketball: In girls prep basketball Tuesday night the Boise Braves beat Rocky Mountain 52-41. Boise now 2-1 on the young season and Rocky 0-1. Timberline at 2-0 and Mountain View and Eagle both 1-0 are the only unbeaten teams remaining in 5A SIC play.
