5A Football Championship Set

Mountain View Beat Madison, Rocky Mountain Beat Highland, that set up a Rocky vs Mountain View State Championship. It also changed the location that was expected to be in East Idaho. After a weekend rescheduling, the 5A state high school football championship will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Boise State’s Albertsons Stadium.

Boise State will host Air Force at 7:30 p.m. Friday and an expected full parking lot will cause a problem as comedian Kevin Hart has a show at 7 p.m. Saturday at Taco Bell Arena. Over 10,000 people are expected for the game, so Dona Larsen Park, which seats approximately 5,000, wouldn’t work.

This is the first time since 2009 that two 5A Southern Idaho Conference schools have met for the state championship.
