Brent Jones and Nick Baker combined for a five-hit shutout as the Hillsboro Hops blanked the Boise Hawks, 10-0, at Memorial Stadium.

Both Todd Glaesmann and Elvin Soto had four hit games for the Hops, who set a season-high for runs and hits in the victory.

Hillsboro struck first in the second, getting an RBI single by Yorman Garcia and a RBI ground out from Galli Cribbs to grab a 2-0 lead. The lead would grow to 7-0 in the third, batting around for five runs - taking advantage of two Boise errors.

It was more than enough for Jones, who limited the Hawks to just two hits in five innings to pick up his first professional win. The Hillsboro duo retired 17-straight Boise batters at one stretch.

Game 2 of the series is tomorrow night at 7:15 p.m. - with Trevor Clifton (0-0, 5.40 ERA) meeting Scott Schultz (0-0, 0.00 ERA).

NOTES - The shutout loss was the first for Boise since Aug. 31, 2013, when Hillsboro's Kyle Schepel threw a no-hitter at Memorial Stadium...Rashad Crawford was 2-for-4 with a double and a triple, his triple tying him for the league lead with three...starter Erick Leal was roughed up for a second-straight start, going two-plus innings, allowing seven runs on six hits...Greyer Eregua was solid in relief for the Hawks, tossing three shutout innings, striking out four.
