The Broncos could be on their way to a big bowl game this season, but here's what has to happen.

If the stars line up and things fall into place, Boise State could be playing on January 2nd in the Cotton Bowl at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX.  Or, if the cards don't exactly fall the best-case way, one of the possibilities is that the Broncos could be playing December 17th in the Las Vegas Bowl, according to SB Nation.  Or CBS Sports says we could be in the Potato Bowl, which would be right here in Boise on December 22nd.

The Cotton Bowl is one of the biggies.  Each bowl has certain rules for accepting teams, and the Cotton Bowl gets the highest ranked mid-major champion.  As of Sunday, SB Nation points out that Boise State ranks higher than Western Michigan, but if Wyoming beats New Mexico and wins Boise's division, that would knock us out of the running for the best bowls.  Wyoming has the upper hand after beating the Broncos earlier this season.

Kind of a hot mess!  It all depends on how the final week of the season pans out.

All the Broncos can do is beat Air Force this Friday (11/25) on the road, and wait to see what the other teams do.  We're suddenly big fans of New Mexico, hoping the Lobos beat Wyoming this weekend, because it's looking like the division could come down to the Broncos and Cowboys and we want them to lose.

Happy Thanksgiving!  It's a fun week for a lot of reasons.
