Former Boise State quarterback Grant Hedrick agreed to a minicamp tryout deal with the Denver Broncos. Hedrick will head to Denver this weekend to show his skills to the Denver coaches and prove that he deserves a spot at camp this summer. If Hedrick can get in and work during the summer, there's a good chance he could stick around for longer.

“That’s all I wanted, just a shot, and now I’ve got it,” Hedrick told BlueTurfSports.com. “I have to go make the most of it now and hopefully something will come from it.

“I’m just excited and grateful to have the opportunity and I’m glad Denver saw something in me to at least do this. I’m just going to try to go make the most of the opportunity I have.”

Hedrick won't be the only former Bronco in Denver this weekend. He'll join wide receiver Matt Miller, who signed a free agent deal with Denver last weekend.

Hedrick's numbers from his last season on the Blue were impressive, having finished his senior season as the national leader in completion percentage at .708%. Hedrick also ranked ninth nationally in passing efficiency (157.2), 13th in passing yards (3,696) and 14th in total offense (306.3 yards per game). In the Fiesta Bowl, Hedrick threw for 309 yards and completed his first 14 passes of the game - tying an all-bowl record.
