BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The 20th-ranked Boise State wrestling team lost its second dual in as many days, falling to CSU Bakersfield Friday at the Old Gym, 19-13. The Broncos, who hadn’t lost a league dual to a conference opponent in two years prior to Thursday’s 19-12 defeat at the hands of Stanford, dropped to 1-3 on the season and 1-2 in the Pac-12.

The Roadrunners opened with a 16-5 major decision at 133 pounds from Jose Mendoza over Ben DeMeulle, but Travis Himmelman tied the match with a major decision of his own.Himmelman shut out Everett Pratt (8-0), improving to 2-0 on the Broncos’ road trip.

CSU Bakersfield won the next four matches via decision before seventh-ranked Jake Swartz put the Broncos on the board once again with a 6-2 victory over Sean Pollock. Swartz, now 7-1 on the season, is a perfect 4-0 in duals.
