Boise’s Brian Scott's has won the pole for Sunday's Aaron's 499, his fifth start in NASCAR's top series. Brian is a full time racer in the Nationwide seris.
"Who would have thought that, huh?" Scott said after posting a speed of 198.29 mph.
His No. 33 Shore Lodge Chevrolet will share the front row with Paul Menard. Scott told ESPN, "I've got that dreaded rookie yellow stripe on my bumper, and that's going to make people run away from me like the plague," Scott said of finding drafting partners.
This is Scott's fourth Cup start of the year. His best finish is 25th at Daytona, where he started 12th.
