The Boise State men's basketball team tied a dubious record last night in Fresno losing their 6th one possession of the season. Not since the 1983-84 season have the Broncos lost so many close games in a single season.

Alex Hobbs, who led the broncos with 18 points took a three point shot for the win at the buzzer but came up short. It seems to be a theme this year!

The Broncos have a streak of six consecutive 20+ game winning seasons about to be broken and when you ask what happened you just have to look to past seasons when those one possession games went to the Broncos, not the other way.

Even if just 50% went BSU's direction the season would have an entirely different feel.

Head coach Leon Rice continues to make decisions that will work in Boise State's long term favor and he see's a bright future ahead while pointing out his team this year is very close. Losing a Chandler Hutchison to close games has proven difficult but Rice says his team battles every game and that's all he can ask.

Boise State now travels to San Diego for a showdown with San Diego State Saturday at 5 p.m. in what has traditionally been game that go right down to the wire.

Don't bet on anything else, it's been that kind of the year!
