The games just keep getting bigger for Maryland freshman Destiny Slocum. The 5-7 basketball stick of dynamite is averaging 25 minutes playing time as a freshman guard for the 3rd ranked Maryland women's college basketball team. Not long ago she was all everything in Idaho girls basketball at Mountain View in Meridian and even served as an analyst for a live broadcast on 630 The Fan.

She went to Moscow last summer and helped team USA win the world women's basketball championship. So confident she grabbed the trophy and posed in the middle of the front row for the team picture.

That confidence will need to be in play December 29th when #3 Maryland hosts #1 Connecticut in arguably the biggest women's college basketball game this season. Slocum is averaging nearly 11 points per game and 4 assists per contest and her leadership has been undeniable.

The December 29th game, a week from today will air on ESPN2 as the rest of the country gets to meet an Idaho Gem just beginning to make her name in college hoops.
