You've been waiting to get down and muddy since June and it's finally he...wait, never mind. The Dirty Dash has been postponed, AGAIN.

Originally scheduled for June 18th, organizers pushed the mud obstacle race back to October 8th because of the fire risk at host site, Avimor. Participants began posting to the Facebook event page asking why they hadn't received any packet pick-up information with just four days until race day.

On Tuesdsay afternoon, the Dirty Dash Boise Facebook page posted the following notice delaying the race again and moving it to a new locations:

Due to the ongoing fires at Avimor, we have been forced to change the date and venue for the Dirty Dash event. We do apologize for this last minute change, but we believe, as well as Assistant Fire Marshal Scott Buck, that it will be a much safer for our participants that we change the venue location.

The Boise Dirty Dash event will now be held on Saturday, October 22nd at:
Eagle Sports Complex
11800 Horseshoe Bend Way
Eagle, Idaho 83714

With the new venue comes a new 10 a.m. start time. It appears that refunds will still not be issued, but if the new date doesn't work for a registered participant they may transfer their entry to next year's Dirty Dash or the 2017 Boise Lantern Festival.  Participants with questions are directed to contact organizers HERE.

As an active member of the running community in the Treasure Valley, I would like to point out that participants were already unhappy that the race had been pushed to October 8th as many were also registered for the Idaho Beef Council's Race for Steaks on the same day or City of Trees Marathon and Half Marathon the following day.  Others say they're unhappy with the race being pushed to late October because highs are traditionally in the lower 50s, not the ideal temp for diving into cold watery mud.
