ESPN took Shilling off the air, here's why.   The sports giant has booted the former hall of famer off its broadcast because of an anti- Muslim tweet according to the Associated Press.  Shilling’s offense was not an original tweet but a retweet according to the article.  The tweet was removed, but not before the damage was done.

Here’s the tweet: “Only 5-10% of Muslims are extremists. In 1940, only 7% of Germans were Nazis. How’d that go?”   Even though the tweet was removed, the network removed Shilling from the Little League World Series Broadcast.  He accepted the punishment and released a statement on the situation.  “Bad choices have bad consequences, and this was a bad decision in every way on my part.”

ESPN hasn’t commented on what’s next for Shilling.
