Football Playoff Poll Crunch Time

Once again the battle among the Group of 5 for the coveted spot in the Cotton Bowl is between Memphis, Cincinnati and Boise State.

Everyone has an opinion on which of the three is most deserving of a new Years Six Bowl invite. Fortunately we don't need an opinion because this will most likely work itself over the next couple of weeks.

The latest poll has Memphis no.18, Cincinnati 19th and Boise State 20 and Friday is another big day for all three.

Cincinnati will be at Memphis and Memphis is an 11 point favorite. Even if Cincinnati manages to stage an upset, one of those two teams is going down and all Boise State needs to do is take care of business and beat Colorado State.

The Broncos then need to beat Hawaii in the Mountain West Championship game December 7th at 2 pm on the blue.

To me there is no question a 12-1 Boise State team given their strength of schedule, much tougher than either Memphis or Cincinnati would shoot BSU into the Cotton Bowl.

Remember, the Broncos only loss was by 3pts at BYU and the Cougars should finish the year 8-4 and they are bowl bound to boot!

FYI, Utah moved into the 6th spot in this weeks College Football Playoff rankings right behind Alabama. The Utes knocking on the CFP door with a couple of weeks remaining to see if LSU, Ohio State, Clemson or Georgia trip up and leave an opening for Utah.
