Boise State quarterback Hank Bachmeier was named to the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) Midseason Watch List for the Freshman All-America Team and the Shaun Alexander/Stand Together Freshman of the Year Award, the organization announced Thursday.

Bachmeier started the first six games of the season for the Broncos (6-1, 3-0 MW), before missing Oct. 19's contest at BYU due to injury. Boise State got off to a 6-0 start with Bachmeier under center, including a season-opening 36-31 victory at Florida State in which the Murrieta, Calif., native went 30-for-51 for 407 yards and a touchdown, leading a Bronco comeback from an 18-point deficit.

On the year, Bachmeier has completed 61.9 percent of his passes (109-for-176) for 1,547 yards and nine touchdowns, against just three interceptions.

Boise State resumes Mountain West play Nov. 2 at San Jose State. That contest is slated for an 8:30 p.m. kickoff on CBS Sports Network.
