Boise State cornerback Tyler Horton was one of three Boise State athletes honored by the Mountain West conference as athletes of the week.

Horton scooped a pair of fumbles and returned them both for touchdowns in the Broncos 56-20 season opening football win at Troy, Alabama.

This is the second time Horton has been awarded the defensive football player of the week honor in the Mountain West.

In soccer, Raimee Sherle of Boise State is the Mountain West player of the week. Sherle scored three goals ion two games as Boise State improved to 4-1 on the season. Sherle now has 30 career goals and that's just five short of the all time Boise State record.

In Volleyball it was another Boise State athlete tabbed as player of the week. Freshman Jessica Donahue had 20 blocks and 30 kills at the Idaho State Invitational in Pocatello where the Broncos went 3-0 to improve to 5-0 on the season.
