The Idaho Steelheads have completed a trade started back in march with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits.

The Steelheads acquired forward Jack Nevins last season on March 7th in exchange for future considerations and today the Steelheads completed that deal by sending the rights to forward Will Merchant to Greenville.

Merchant, 24, played each of his first two professional seasons with Idaho. The Eagan, Minnesota native appeared in 70 games with the Steelheads last season, totaling 17 goals and 46 points along with a plus-17 rating. Merchant played 139 games with the Steelheads since joining the team at the start of the 2016-17 season, recording 38 goals and 94 points. Merchant also notched a goal and four points in 11 playoff games.

Nevins, 24, recorded two goals and four points in seven games with the Steelheads, as well as 26 penalty minutes. The fourth-year pro tallied two goals, three points, and 17 penalty minutes in 11 playoff games.
