The Idaho Vandals are searching hard for positives to hang their helmets on and one of those positives is the tackling of Tre Walker.

Walker leads the FCS with 6.9 solo tackles per game and that is 6th best in the country, Walker has led Idaho in tackles six of their seven games.

The Vandals will need all the tackles Walker can muster this Saturday as they host the Idaho State Bengals in a cross-state Big Sky Showdown.

It's homecoming in Moscow as the Vandals look for their first Big Sky win. Idaho is 2-5 and 0-3 in league. The Bengals are 3-3 and 2-1.

Idaho is 27-12 all time against Idaho State but last year the Bengals dominated Idaho in a 63-28 win. Once again Saturday ISU will bring a wide open offense in to the cross state rivalry.

Bengal quarterback Matt Struck threw for 396 yards and 5 touchdowns in a win over North Dakota. Five different receivers caught TD passes as the Bengals put up 55 points.

The Vandals meantime were blanked 24-0 at Portland State.

Conventional wisdom suggests ISU will win Saturday going away but before their lapse at Portland State the Vandals nearly upset Wyoming of the Mountain West and 4th ranked Weber State.

Coverage of the Idaho State-Idaho game begins at 2:30pm on sports radio 630 The Fan, kickoff at 3:30pm.
