The Boise State Broncos return home Saturday to take on the Ragin’ Cajuns of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The Broncos are coming off a 38-21 win on the road at UConn. Boise State ranks top ten in the country in a few defensive categories: 2nd in rushing defense (29.0 ypg) and interceptions (7), 3rd in tackles for loss (10.3 per game), 5th in takeaways (9), and 8th in sacks (4.0 per game).

Boise State's tough defense is not the only one with high national rankings, as running back, Jay Ajayi is 10th in all-purpose yards with 170.3 per game and 16th in rushing yards (344). Before the game at UConn, Ajayi lead the country in plays from scrimmage and yards from scrimmage, but fell to second and fourth in both categories.

Quarterback Grant Hedrick ranks 7th in completion percentage (72.6) and 19th in passing yards (849). Receivers Matt Miller and Shane Williams-Rhodes are stand outs this season so far, Miller ranks 15th nationally in receiving yards (309) and Williams-Rhodes is 10th in receptions per game (8).

Louisiana-Lafayette played Ole Miss last weekend, losing 56-15. The Ragin’ Cajuns are 1-2 on the season. Boise State’s only loss also comes at the hands of the 10th ranked team in nation. Coach Harsin has a bit of familiarity with this Ragin’ Cajuns squad, as they beat his former team, the Arkansas State Red Wolves, last season.

Boise State can improve to 3-1 on the season Saturday, September 20, at Albertson’s Stadium. Kickoff at 6:30pm Mountain time, on CBS Sports Network.
